Help The Occupational Development Center and Sweat-a-Fit raise funds to benefit adults with disabilities in Lancaster County!

“This isn’t SWEAT, This is liquid awesome!”

The Mission of the Occupational Development Center is to provide high
quality and cost effective vocational training and employment opportunities
for Lancaster County adults with developmental disabilities. Through a wide
variety of contacts within the Lancaster County business community,
contracts for services are established. Contracts serve as a vehicle for
training program participants in addition to providing a valued service to
the business community. Participation in the program enables program
participants to become more independent, develop appropriate job and social
skills, and foster self-esteem through acknowledgment of their meaningful
contribution to the community. A primary focus of the program is to enable
program participants to function in their least restrictive work
environment. This includes opportunities in vocational workshop employment,
community-based employment through mobile work crews, supported employment
and independent functioning in a competitive work environment. Fundamental
to accomplishing our mission is continuous monitoring and assessment of our
program participants’ suitability for change in their work environment. This
requires helping them to overcome many obstacles to achieving optimal
independence in a work setting.
